In Carine's World...

A day of favourites and new findings ended in us dropping into Barney's on Madison.

As always the windows were inspiring and eye catching, displaying a tribute to Carine Roitfeld, the previous French Vogue editor.  With television screens changing angles and voice overs of her personal interview cooing into the street - This is why we love New York City 

Highlight of the day: Helmut Lang

The Helmut Lang flagship store in Soho New York blew our socks off! The staff were super friendly and helpful and the merchandising was out of control. As ben would say...We loved it sick! 

LES - Not your average CO-OP

CO-OP in the lower east side was a recommendation by the girls at Helmut Lang (thanks Tracy!)

Combining a modern sushi bar with an authentic New York dining experience, we had a night to be remembered at this Big Apple hot spot. 

A favourite and must try on the menu is the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. One thing to remember when dining in New York - eat before dinner if you are hungry because it's rare to be seated before 11pm! 

Watch out beaches...

We are so glad that we are bringing home a new fun label that Brissy girls are going to love wearing.

Expanding from our already fabulous ready to wear range by Mara Hoffman it was only natural we picked up this new swimwear range as well! Bring on Summer!

A selection within a collection - Helmut Lang

Helmut Lang is always one of our favourite collections to view. They came through with the goods yet again, showing one of their best collections we have ever seen.

It made it very hard to decide what not to purchase seeing as we wanted nearly the whole collection!

behind the name.....Rag & Bone

Rag & Bone is british phrase for 'Junk Dealer'!

Historically it refers to an individual who travels the streets and collects old rags and then converts them into fabric, paper and bones for making glue!!! The glue is then traded in for other items.

I think it's safe to say that we won't be trading in our Rag & Bone for anything....

There is nothing better than entertaining advertising campaign - i think its safe to say the Lanvin Fall Winter 2011-2012 ad has successfully succeeded!!

Well known stylist, blogger and all time fashion superstar Elin Kling is the girl to be watching. Not only is she a total babe, but she has a 6th sense when it comes to trends and styling.

Kling has teamed up with TIBI to syle their 2012 Spring runway show and Spring campaign. For the past few seasons, Tibi has been moving away from the print party dresses it has been known for and focusing instead on the clean, relaxed kind of sportswear one might see Elin wearing on her blog.

Kling's strategy for styling is “I just want to look at each girl and be jealous of her.” That should be our motto at Calexico.
